T-Bone accident in DeLeon Springs
This motor vehicle accident happened around 11.00 p.m. when the white pick-up truck, traveling east on Retta Street, was struck in the passenger side (t-boned) by an Explorer traveling north on Highway 17. One patient was transported to the hospital as a basic life support patient. Two other patients were transported to Halifax Hospital as trauma alerts with extrication performed to remove one of the patients entrapped by a door and the floor board. Unfortunately, the accident also resulted in one fatality. Those responding to the scene included: Battalion 40, Battalion 30, Engine 41, Engine 42, Squad 46, Volusia County Sheriff's Office, EVAC, Air1 and the Florida Highway Patrol.
