The Logistics Team is responsible for providing facilities, services and materials in support of Fire Services. Other activities include receiving of supplies and equipment, inventory and fixed assets. Logistics also oversees the maintenance, modification and coordination of all department facilities, apparatus, fire, rescue and communications equipment. Logistics coordinates the fleet purchase program. The fit firefighter program keeps personnel in optimum condition to perform their jobs in stressful situations.

Nutrition and Wellness (Deputy Chief Frank Pocica): oversees the risk management program and fitness program with the mission of injury prevention and disease by providing fitness education techniques, prevention oriented healthcare, and job specific rehabilitative services.

Risk Management receives and reviews all notice of injury reports, vehicle accident and general liability claims, and provides assurance that all employees receive proper medical care. Risk Management also manages the modified light duty program and annual physical program.

Wellness oversees the Fire Division’s wellness program, coordination of CPAT tests, agility fitness evaluation tests, and the design of individual fitness programs for our employees.

Fleet Maintenance (Vann Cade): is responsible for the specifications and purchasing, coordinating and maintenance of all emergency response apparatus. Provides and maintains all small equipment, and self-contained breathing apparatus to increase operational safety, effectiveness and to minimize respiratory hazards encountered on many on-scene working environments.

Facilities (Captain Roy Rawlins): ensures all Volusia County Fire Services division facilities are environmentally safe, secure and in good repair. This is accomplished through an aggressive building repair program and long term planning utilizing the facilities capital improvement program.

Inventory & Records Control (Tammy Scott): oversees the inventory and records functions. This includes over $20 million in inventory and the tracking and maintenance of all records in accordance with the state mandated record retention schedule.
Supply/Warehouse (.Maureen (MO) Gruber): provides goods and services to the Fire Rescue division in a timely manner. This includes uniforms, personal protective equipment, furniture, appliances and office supplies for all fire facilities; and serves as the liaison between County Purchasing and the various vendors that provide contracted goods and services.

The Air Room/SCBA Maintenance Repair Section (Captain Roy Rawlins): is located at the Resource Center and is operated by a certified SCBA maintenance crew. They are responsible for the maintenance, repair, upgrading, inspection, documentation and hydro testing of the department’s •260MSA breathing apparatus, •580 air cylinders and •6 air filling stations.

All team members have attended a technician school sponsored by MSA and are certified as technicians to conduct inspections and perform repairs on all self-contained breathing apparatuses and air cylinders. Presently, we are one of the few certified repair shops in the State of Florida.
