Support Services is responsible for the oversight of agency technical training and providing facilities, services and materials in support of Fire Services. Functions for which Support Services is responsible for also include the following:
- Oversight of all supply chain management and distribution of goods for Fire Services
- Oversight of all assets inventory control and records for Fire Services
- Oversight of all capital construction projects for VCFS
- Oversight of all fleet services functions
- Liaison to County Risk Management
- Oversight for health and safety
- Coordination and evaluation of the volunteer recruitment and retention program; volunteer staff coordination and management
- Training Services and the Fire Services Institute
- ISO (fire insurance rating) program oversight
- Fire hydrant maintenance and records oversight
- Radio communications and dispatching (Sheriff’s Office Fire/EMS Emergency Communication Center liaison)
