Red drum is an
important recreational species in Florida that is found
throughout the nearshore waters from Massachusettes to the Gulf
of Mexico (Reagan, 1985). Red drum move offshore to spawn during
late summer and fall (Reagan, 1985). Juvenile red drum (<100
mm standard length) were collected in our monthly samples
beginning in September with a peak abundance occuring during late
fall.

Catch statistics for dominant taxa collected in beach-and-boat
set seine samples during Volusia County fixed station sampling,
1993-1996. Percent (%) is the percent of the total catch
represented by that species; percent occurrence is the percentage
of samples in which the species was collected; Stderr is the
standard error of the mean.
