Red drum is an important recreational species in Florida that is found throughout the nearshore waters from Massachusettes to the Gulf of Mexico (Reagan, 1985). Red drum move offshore to spawn during late summer and fall (Reagan, 1985). Juvenile red drum (<100 mm standard length) were collected in our monthly samples beginning in September with a peak abundance occuring during late fall.
