The ECHO Grants-In-Aid is a
“bricks-and-mortar” program, providing grant funds to finance acquisition,
restoration, construction or improvement of facilities. These facilities
must be used for environmental/ecological, cultural, historical/heritage
or outdoors recreation purposes and must be open for public use. Examples
of projects funded in the past include the Tuscawilla Preserve Learning
Center at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach (E), the
expansion of the Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach (C), the restoration
of DeBary Hall in DeBary (H) and the construction of an outdoor soccer
complex in Deltona (O). However, maintenance projects or projects for the
general operational repairs of facilities are examples of projects that
are not eligible for funding. Additionally, ECHO grants are not intended
to fund operations or programs.
