Abstract:
The bureau develops statewide rules and provides training and standardization for County Health Department employees responsible for permitting the installation and repair of onsite sewage treatment and disposal systems (OSTDS) within the state. This shapefile contains onsite sewage treatment and disposal systems inspected by the Department of Health.
Purpose:
The data was created to serve as base information for use in GIS systems for a variety of planning and analytical purposes.

The bureau licenses septic tank contractors, approves continuing education courses and course providers for septic tank contractors, funds a hands-on training center, and mediates OSTDS contracting complaints.
