Planning is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the County's comprehensive planning program, which provides guidance for the physical growth of Volusia County through the development of sound plans, programs, and policies. This office is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the County Comprehensive Plan. Planning also reviews plans, rezonings and special exceptions to insure conformity with the policies and development regulations outlined in the Volusia County Comprehensive Plan. Planning performs work specific to planning services in the unincorporated areas.
