Barkley Square Dog Park encompasses more than 14 acres and provides areas for large dogs, small dogs, training events, and time-out spaces. The dog park is situated on a parcel of land with many trees and even a small, lined pond in the large dog area.
Parking is plentiful and amenities include a modern restroom, benches, dog watering stations, and attractive vinyl-coated fencing. The Barkley Square Dog Park is the fifth of its kind in Volusia County, the second owned and operated by Volusia County Government. The park opened in spring 2007 with a howling celebration.
Driving directions
From DeLand, take S.R. 17-92 north to Plymouth Avenue. Turn west (left) on Plymouth Avenue. Turn north (right) onto N. Ridgewood Avenue. The dog park in on the left.
