Flu shots
available for Flagler County residents
September 1, 2009 Bunnell Fl. -- Regular Flu and Pneumonia shots will be
available at the Flagler County Health Department beginning Sept. 11.
The vaccination clinics are by appointment only and will be conducted each
Friday while supplies last. The Flu shots are for the seasonal Flu and not
the H1N1 Flu. Vaccinations for the H1N1 Flu will be available in October.
Heath Department Administrator Patrick Johnson said the “appointment only”
clinics offer the advantage of not waiting in a long line and assurance that
the vaccine is reserved for your appointment. “The appointment only clinics
received many positive responses by the community last year,” Johnson said.
Appointments can be made by calling the Health Department at 386-437-7350
extension 2261. Flu shots are free to Medicare Part “B” participants who do
not belong to an HMO. Flu shots for all others are $20 and Pneumonia shots
are $40.
