BAM teams up with Volusia Prepares Business to help get condominiums prepared
for the next hurricane season
The Building Association Managers (BAM) of
Volusia County sponsored a disaster preparedness and recovery workshop in
October targeting condominium managers and boards of directors.
Two dozen people took part in the half-day training program conducted in the
Auditorium of the Ormond Beach Regional Branch Library. The attendees learned
about the four phases of a disaster and what they and their residents should be
doing in each of the phases. They also learned about the concerns of evacuating
and “sheltering-in-place”, sometimes referred to as “hunkering down and riding
it out.”
BAM leadership intends to offer the program in other areas of the county to
reach more condominium managers and board members prior to the next hurricane
season.
For information on the workshop contact Pat White or Rick Moore of
Volusia County Emergency Management at 386.258.4088.
