North Peninsula Residential Community Clean-Up Day Questions and Answers

For additional information, please
see the Clean-Up Day news
release here and review the
ordinances here. (pdf format)

Q:  What time do I have to place my items at the curb?

A:
Please have all items you wish to dispose of at the curb by 6 a.m. Monday, May 12.

Q:  Does my yard trash have to be bundled?

A:  Yard trash, such as palm fronds and tree trimmings, does not need to be bundled. However, we ask that these items be neatly stacked.  Limbs should be kept to a minimum of 4’ in length, no larger than 1’ in diameter and must weight less than 60 pounds.

Q:  Do I need to bag my grass clippings or leaves?

A:  We prefer to have grass clippings and leaves placed in a container (such as a 36-gallon garbage can). This eliminates the need for plastic bags.  However, we will accept bagged grass clippings.

Q:  Can I place a television set or computer at the curb for pick-up?

A:  Computers and television sets should be taken to the Tomoka Landfill, 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Daytona Beach, for recycling efforts. The Tomoka Landfill is open from 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, and 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.  You will not be charged to drop these items off at the landfill.

Q:  May I put an appliance or furniture out for pick-up?

A:  We will pick up appliances and furniture. Please keep these items separated.

Q:  Can I place construction debris at the curb for pick up?

A:  Normally, construction debris is not collected at the curb. However, for this one day collection we will accept construction debris.  Please have debris containerized and separated from other types of trash.

Q:  Will paints, chemicals, and fluorescent light bulbs be collected?

A:  Household chemicals, paint, fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, and rechargeable batteries will not be collected. You may properly dispose of these items at the Tomoka Landfill, 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Daytona Beach. The Tomoka Landfill is open from 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, and 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.  You will not be charged to drop these items off at the landfill.
