Remember to recycle right:
The dual-sort system
| What is it? The dual-sort system uses two bins - one for fiber paper materials
and one for co-mingled "containers." Two bins enhance our program by
adding more materials and improving the quality of what is recycled. |
 |
How will works
Bin one
One bin will be for fiber paper materials including:
- Newspaper (with inserts)
- Phone books
- Junk mail
- Magazines
- Mixed office paper
- Cardboard, including corrugated, cereal
boxes, snack boxes, etc. Please fold cardboard to 4’ x 4’ size. Do not
tie or bundle flattened cardboard boxes together.

Bin 1 |
Bin two
The other bin will be for co-mingled containers, including:
- Aluminum and steel cans
- Glass bottles (clear, green and amber)
- Plastic containers coded 1-7.

Bin 2 |
Sorry, no
Styrofoam or plastic bags!
Helpful hints
Residents may put paper materials in a paper grocery bag and place the bag on top of their
co-mingled containers, using a single bin system.

If you have large cardboard boxes, please flatten and stack
them between or under bins.
