registration renewal fees
increased Sept. 1, 2009
On Sept. 1, 2009, certain fees for driver license and motor vehicle services changed. These new fees were established by the Florida Legislature as part of the state’s budget development process. A list of fee increases is available at the
Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles web site.
If your birthday is before December, you may
be able to renew your vehicle registration before state-mandated fee increases go into effect.
If your birthday is:
- on or before
Aug. 31, you can renew at the current rate by Aug. 31;
- in September,
you can renew early at the current rate by Aug. 31;
- in October, you
can renew early at the current rate between July 1 and Aug. 31; or
- in November, you
can renew early at the current rate between Aug. 1 and 31.
You can save additional money by renewing for
two years.

renew online*
*A postage fee of 70 cents
for registration certificate/decal or $2.15 for a license plate is charged for
all online renewals.
