Q. Do I need a Volusia County business tax receipt if my business is located in Volusia County?
A. Effective January 1, 2024, the ordinance requiring a Volusia County business tax receipt is repealed and a Volusia County business tax receipt is no longer required for any business located within Volusia County. For questions regarding whether a city business tax receipt is required for your business, please contact the city in which the business is physically located. Q. How do I get a copy of my business tax receipt records?
A. Please contact the Treasury and Billing Division by email at treasury@volusia.org or by calling 386-943-7085.
Q. Where can I find out if my business is located in the incorporated or unincorporated area of Volusia County?
A. You can visit the Volusia County property appraiser's website at vcpa.vcgov.org/index.html and select “Parcel Record Search” then “Search by Location Address.” Once you have located your parcel information, the location of your property will be listed in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Q. How do I register my business that may be regulated by the state?

Q: If I am a contractor, do I need to register with Volusia County?
A. All contractors who will be working in Volusia County must register with the Volusia County Contractor Licensing Department located in DeLand before doing business in Volusia County. Please call 386-736-5957 option 1 or email contractorlicensing@volusia.org for more information.
Q. Where do I register for a door-to-door sales permit?
A. Door-to-door sales permits are obtained from the Volusia County Clerk of Court. They can be contacted at (386) 736-5911 for additional information.
Q: Where do I register a corporation?
A. Corporations are registered with the Department of State's Division of Corporations. Registration information can be found at their website, www.sunbiz.org.
Q. Where do I file for a workers' compensation exemption?
