The elected Property Appraiser, Morgan Gilreath, determines the
appraised value of properties in Volusia County, the exemptions due to property owners, and maintains the owner name
and mailing address for each piece of property.
Property appraisal search
The Volusia County Council and other taxing authorities set the millage rates. Millage rate data can be found on the Tax Roll Information section of the Property Appraiser's website.
Property tax collection
The Volusia County Revenue Division bills and collects the property taxes based on the information provided to us by the Property Appraiser and taxing authorities.

Payment made in person may be in the form of:
- Cash
- Personal check (current tax payments only)
- Cashiers check
- Money order
- Debit card (convenience fee of $1.50 will be charged by the payment processing company)
- Credit card (convenience fee of 2.6% w/$1.75 minimum will be charged by the payment processing company) Note: Visa credit cards cannot be accepted while the Tax Certificate Sale is underway 5/31/13 through approximately 6/14/13.
Property tax forms
Application for optional quarterly installment pre-payment plan The installment plan breaks the annual bill up into four quarterly payments. The first two are due in June & September, prior to the opening of the Tax Roll, so they are estimated using the previous year's total. The last two are due in December & March, and adjust for any changes from the previous year. Discounts apply to quarterly payments made on time for June, September, & December. The March quarter has no discount.
Application for optional partial payments per
F.S. 197.374
Partial payments can be made for current taxes between November 1 and March 31. There is no limit
on the number of payments that can be made. Discounts do not apply and there is a $10 processing fee per
payment. Credit card payments cannot be accepted for accounts participating in this plan.
