Mission: To safely dispose of all solid waste material generated in Volusia County. To develop and maintain recycling and education programs to reduce solid waste by 30 percent as mandated by the 1988 State Solid Waste Management Act.
Residents who live in the unincorporated areas of Volusia County are provided waste services through Volusia County’s Solid Waste Division. Residents are charged for service by an annual $190 non-ad-valorem assessment per residential unit.
GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION SCHEDULE
For unincorporated Volusia County residents, garbage, recycling, and yard trash collection will remain as normally scheduled for the upcoming Good Friday holiday on Friday, April 3rd. If your normal collection day is Friday, please place items at the curb by 6:00 am for normal collection.
Both the West Volusia Transfer Station and the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill will maintain normal hours of operation on Friday, April 3rd. However, Volusia County Solid Waste Administration offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday on Friday, April 3rd. Offices reopen at 8AM on Monday, April 6th.
