District 3 deputies responded to traffic crash involving a pedestrian on N US HWY 1 in front of the Iron Horse Saloon. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Deputies assisted with traffic until FHP and Fire Police arrived.
V1 FRANCIS, MARK 1-09-65 V1 WAS DISCOVERED UNRESPONSIVE BY HIS SON UPON HIS RETURN FROM VISITING FAMILY OVER THE WEEKEND. DFR RESPONDED AND PRONOUNCED V1 DECEASED ON SCENE. V1 WAS LAST SEEN ON FRI 11-06-09 AT THE SAND BAR. V1 HAD NO KNOWN MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND WAS NOT CURRENTLY SEEING A DOCTOR. ON CALL CID, MAJOR CASE AND CRIME SCENE RESPONDED. THE INVESTIGATION WAS TURNED OVER TO MAJOR CASE. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF TRAUMA OR FOUL PLAY.
Sergeant Nardiello reported that a distressed 26 YOA female reported being sexually battered. Deputies responded and were told by the victim that she had been drinking heavily while riding in a car with an older male friend. Investigation determined the sexual battery occurred in Lake County. Lake County Sheriff's Office responded and took over the investigation.
Sergeant Barnard reported that a 33 year old male was found deceased by family members at his residence. The death was unexpected and suspected to be from a drug overdose of oxycodone. The on-call investigator was summoned. V1 HOLCOMBE, WADE 11-26-76
