Complaining of stomach pains, the victim sought medical treatment on June 14, 1999 and eventually was admitted to Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs for treatment. The hospital contacted the Sheriff's Office on June 18, 1999 after the victim told doctors that his injuries were the result of a beating that had occurred while he was being robbed more than a week earlier. The victim's girlfriend told deputies the victim said he had been attacked while leaving a grocery store. Investigators have since concluded that the attack actually occurred at the victim's home at 2932 Bardahl Court in Deltona. The victim died on June 26, 1999 from blunt force trauma.
