SHERIFF’S
OFFICE LOOKING FOR SEXUAL BATTERY SUSPECTS
The
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in
locating a man accused of barging into the Deltona home of a former
girlfriend, now seven months pregnant, and sexually battering and
robbing the woman. The attack occurred late Thursday night, and the
22-year-old victim told deputies that her ex-boyfriend had a knife and a
male accomplice who was armed with a handgun.
The
victim said she was home with a male friend at approximately 11:30 p.m.
when she heard a knock on the door. Her friend opened the door and was
immediately hit in the face several times by the victim’s
ex-boyfriend, 29-year-old Theodore Mack, which resulted in a laceration.
The victim said that Mack and another man who the victim didn’t know
forced their way inside and Mack sexually assaulted her. Afterwards, the
victim said Mack stole some money from her and then the pair fled the
home. The victim and her friend were treated at Florida Hospital Fish
Memorial in Orange City and released.
Mack
is a black man who is approximately 6’3” tall, weighs about 270
pounds and has eight gold teeth. His last known address is 2621 Hartwell
Ave., Sanford. Mack’s accomplice was described as a black male,
5’6” tall and weighing approximately 145 pounds. Circuit Court Judge
Ed Sanders signed warrants Friday charging Mack with armed sexual
battery and burglary. Judge Sanders ordered Mack held on $200,000 bond.
Mack also is wanted for aggravated stalking in connection to a prior
incident with the same victim.
Anyone
with information about Mack’s whereabouts or this incident is asked to
contact Sheriff’s Sgt. Virgil Ford at (386) 860-7030 or Crime Stoppers
of Volusia & Flagler Counties toll-free at 1-888-277-TIPS. Callers
to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of
up to $1,000.
