BODY FOUND IN LAKE GEORGE

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a body found in Lake George Sunday afternoon. An off duty deputy saw the body while fishing near the middle of the lake and reported it at approximately 3:19 p.m. The body is that of a white male between the ages of 20 and 30 and partially clothed. The Sheriff’s Office’s major case unit will be awaiting the results of an autopsy by the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office – likely to happen Monday – to help determine his identity, how long the man has been dead, and whether there are any discernable signs of foul play. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission assisted with the recovery of the body.
