SUSPECT CHARGED IN DELTONA BANK ROBBERY

Volusia County Sheriff’s investigators obtained an arrest warrant today charging 29-year-old Christopher Eugene Floyd of Orlando with the April 4 robbery of a Sun Trust bank on Deltona Boulevard in Deltona. The warrant was signed by Circuit Court Judge Hubert Grimes and calls for Floyd to be taken into custody and held without bond. Floyd, who is suspected in a series of bank robberies throughout Central Florida, remains in custody in Polk County. He was captured May 29 at a hotel in Osceola County after a witness to a bank robbery in Tavares jotted down the tag number of a vehicle spotted fleeing the robbery and the tag came back to Floyd.
