DEBARY MAN DIES IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

A DeBary man died early Friday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash. Christopher Markham was driving a 2001 Yamaha westbound on Pine Meadows Drive when he lost control of the bike in the 400 block. It is not believed speed was a factor at this time. Preliminary investigation indicates that as he lost control the brakes locked up, causing him to be thrown from the motorcycle. The 21-year-old was not wearing a helmet and his head impacted the road. Responding paramedics from Volusia County Fire Services pronounced the DeBary resident dead on scene at 2:24 a.m.

The crash investigation is still active.
