ARREST MADE IN CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBERY
On
February 17, 2008 at approximately 4:00 pm a suspect armed
with what appeared to be a black in color, semi-automatic
handgun entered the Allison’s Shell Convenience Store
located at 3790 Ridgewood Avenue, Port Orange. The armed
suspect demanded cigarettes and the money from the register.
The suspect ran outside and proceeded to the rear of the
store. He placed the stolen property in a black and grey
backpack and fled the area on a black in color, boys bicycle.
The
suspect was described as a white male with brown hair,
approximately 5-11 and 190 lbs. He was wearing baggy blue jean
shorts, a white t-shirt, a dark grey pull over style hooded
sweatshirt, and white low top tennis shoes.
Flyers
were disseminated in the area of the robbery. On February 19,
2008 Patrol Sgt. Bill Proctor was given the first name of “
Mario “ as a possible suspect. On February 20, 2008 Patrol
Ofc. Ken Long was given the full name of the possible suspect
as being “ Mario Mosesso “.
On
February 21, 2008 Detectives formulated a photo lineup, which
resulted in a positive identification from the victim. A
further search of the suspect’s residence resulted in the
recovery of items that provided a definite link to the armed
robbery. Detective Dave Meyer then arrested the suspect at
3:15 pm for the charge of Robbery with a Firearm, the suspect
will be held at DYS.
