POLICE LOOKING FOR SUSPECTS IN PURSE THEFTS
The
Port Orange Police Department is currently investigating theft
cases that have occurred within our jurisdiction and similar
incidents have been reported in Ormond Beach. The incidents
occurred on 03-26-2008 and 03-29-2008 respectively.
The
MO of the two suspects is that they target and follow elderly
females inside Publix. The female suspects closely watch the
victims shopping and when the opportunity presents itself the
black female approaches the victim’s shopping cart where
their purse is located. She then removes the victim’s wallet
from within the purse. The female suspects then exit the store
and immediately go to another business and use the victim’s
credit card to make purchases, usually gift cards.
The
suspects are described as a black female with short black
hair, approximately 5’-7” and 150 lbs. and a white female
with shoulder length brown hair, approximately 5’-8” and
140 lbs.
Further
investigation has linked these suspects to other cases in
Ormond Beach. It is evident that the two females are acting in
concert to accomplish their goal.
The
suspect’s actions were captured on digital security video
surveillance and their photographs are pictured below.
The
Port Orange Police Department is requesting assistance in
identifying these subjects.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joe
Swetz at phone # 506-5883.
