POLICE DISCOVER BODY IN LOCAL RETENTION POND
On
this date at approximately 8:00 AM, the Port Orange Police
responded to 940 Village Trail, Villagio on the Lakes
Condominiums, in response to a possible body floating in a
retention pond on the property. Responding officers and
detectives located a fully clothed male body floating
approximately eight feet from the shoreline. Port Orange
Detectives, along with the Volusia County Medical’s
Examiner’s office, retrieved the body. There didn’t appear
to be any signs of trauma to the body. An autopsy is scheduled
for later this afternoon.
The
identity of the body is being withheld pending notification of
next of kin. Port Orange detectives are conducting this death
investigation.
