POLICE RELEASE PHOTOS OF SUSPECT VEHICLE IN BIG LOTS PURSE SNATCHING
On
Friday, June 27th, 2008 at 3:40 pm the Port Orange Police
Department responded to the parking lot of Big Lots located at
3818 South Nova Road in Port Orange for a report of a strong
armed robbery. The victim in the case was returning to her
vehicle when a male subject approached her from behind and
grabbed her purse.
After
stealing the purse the male ran to a vehicle, entered the
driver’s side and began to leave when the victim confronted
him. As a result of the confrontation the female was dragged
by the vehicle and sustained injuries for which she was
hospitalized and treated.
Physical
evidence obtained during the course of the investigation has
led to the identification of the suspect vehicle. The suspect
vehicle is a four door, blue, 2004-2005 Hyundai Elantra with a
sun roof. The vehicle also displays a light colored license
plate on the front of the vehicle. The
suspect is described as a white male, age range is 20’s to
30’s, 5-10 to 6-0.
At
this time it is believed that the vehicle is locally owned.
Video surveillance that captured the suspect vehicle has been
submitted to the Target Forensic Laboratory for enhancement.

the suspect vehicle.
It
is unknown if the suspect vehicle sustained any damage during
the incident.
