CITY HALL EVACUATED
On
this date at approximately 4:23 PM, the Port Orange Police
Department received a call and responded to Congressman Tom
Feeney’s office located inside Port Orange City Hall at 1000
City Center Circle. The reporting party advised that an
envelope was received in this office that had been opened by
secretarial staff that contained what appeared to be a white
powder substance. The Port Orange Fire Department
responded to the scene and the Haz-Mat team was notified to
respond. The building was evacuated and the area was secured
by Police personnel while the investigation regarding this
incident continues.
