                      TEACHER ACCUSED OF SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH STUDENT

On October 14, 2008 the Port Orange Police Department was contacted by the South Daytona Police Department, they had received information from Warner Christian Academy regarding an alleged sexual relationship between a teacher and student. 

Investigation revealed sexual activity occurred at multiple locations within the City of Port Orange between the months of June 2008 – September 2008. It was learned that Cynthia Horvath, 45, of 2061 Mike Street in South Daytona was involved in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.  

On October 22, 2008 Detective Sergeant Wayne Dorman responded to the State Attorney’s Office where a review of pertinent documents commenced. Upon conclusion, Honorable Judge Patrick Kennedy signed an arrest warrant for Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors against Cynthia Horvath. The bond was stipulated at $10,000.00. 

Cynthia Horvath was placed under arrest at the Wal-Mart on Beville Road in Daytona Beach at 12:18 pm today. Upon completion of the booking procedures, she was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail under the $10,000.00 bond.
