ARREST WARRANT OBTAINED FOR FRAUD
SUSPECT

On
September 18, 2008 a locker at the Port Orange YMCA was
forcibly broken into, during which time the victim’s wallet
was stolen. A short time later the below defendant responded
to the Port Orange Wal-Mart and Target stores, where he
fraudulently made purchases using the victims credit cards.
The defendant was able to unlawfully purchase two Sony Bravia
46 inch televisions, two laptop computers, two portable power
cords, and Sony camcorders. The total theft from both stores
was approximately $ 6,000.00.
On
November 20, 2008 the Port Orange Police Criminal
Investigations Unit solicited the assistance of the Media, as
of that date we had quality videotape showing the suspect, but
had not yet been able to identify him.
On
November 24, 2008 the Orange County Sheriff’s Office
arrested the defendant regarding a domestic violence incident
in their jurisdiction, based on BOLO information and Media
accounts they notified us and felt their arrestee could be our
suspect. Port Orange Police Investigator Scott Brozio then
formulated a photo lineup and showed it to a Wal-Mart cashier
who identified the Defendant as the person that made the
unlawful purchases on the day in question.
On
November 26, 2008 Port Orange Police Investigator Scott Brozio
met with Honorable Judge William Parsons who signed an arrest
warrant against the Defendant (Stefan L. Waldroup) for
Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card over $ 100.00. The bond was
stipulated at $ 25, 000.00. The arrest warrant will be served
against the Defendant at the 33rd Street Jail in Orlando where
he is currently incarcerated.
