                                   POLICE INVESTIGATING ARMED ROBBERY

On this date at approximately 12:27 am, Port Orange Police responded to armed robbery call in the 700 block of Barrows Dairy Court. Police were advised that a black male attempted to hold up two subjects at gunpoint outside a house but quickly fled the scene in a light blue or light green sedan. The suspect vehicle was subsequently struck by one of the victim’s vehicles as it left the area. Port Orange Police responded and also requested the assistance of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office helicopter in an aerial search of this suspect vehicle.

VCSO Air One observed a vehicle on nearby Whiporwill Drive driving with the headlights off pulling in and out of several driveways. Port Orange Police arrived in this area and observed the vehicle at the intersection of Whiporwill Drive and Spruce Creek Road. The vehicle matched the description from the armed robbery incident and had damage consistent with the victim’s statement along its left side. The vehicle was driven by a black female and had a black male passenger.

Port Orange Police units stopped this vehicle at the above intersection. Both occupants of the car gave conflicting statements as to where they were going and where they were coming from. They were both placed under arrest for loitering and prowling.

The female was identified as 19 year old Octavia M. Jenkins of Daytona Beach, Florida and she was charged with loitering and prowling and was transported to VCBJ on $250 bond. The male was identified as 21 year old Clive A. Williams, Jr. of Deland, Florida and he was charged with loitering and prowling, possession of marijuana under 20 grams and possession of crack cocaine and was transported to VCBJ on $1,750.

Port Orange detectives responded to the scene regarding the armed robbery on Barrows Dairy Court and this incident is under investigation.
