POLICE LOOKING FOR THIRD VEHICLE
INVOLVED IN CLYDE MORRIS ACCIDENT
On March 7, 2009 at approximately
9:41 PM at the intersection of Clyde Morris Blvd and Richel
Drive, a motor vehicle accident occurred involving a
motorcyclist (operated by 40 year old Tracy “Scot” Fiedler of
St. Petersburg, FL) and a car (operated by 35 year old Victoria
Vilomar of Holly Hill, FL).
Fiedler was southbound on Clyde
Morris Blvd in the inside lane, while Vilomar was north bound on
Clyde Morris Blvd in the left turn only lane (for Richel Drive).
Vilomar attempted to turn west onto Richel Drive and did so in
the path of Fiedler’s motorcycle. Fiedler’s motorcycle struck
the right front quarter panel of Vilomar’s car. This action
caused Fiedler to be ejected off his motorcycle where he came to
rest in the southbound lanes of Clyde Morris Blvd. A third
vehicle, possibly not aware of the accident, was southbound on
Clyde Morris Blvd. This vehicle drove around the damaged
motorcycle in the intersection and subsequently struck a portion
of Fiedler who was lying in the roadway. This third vehicle was
last seen traveling sound bound on Clyde Morris Blvd and is
described by witnesses as a small vehicle with a hatch back
style back end, possibly a small crossover SUV type vehicle and
was white in color. There is no information on the operator of
this vehicle.
Fiedler, who was wearing a helmet,
was transported to Halifax Medical Center where he remains
hospitalized in stable condition for his injuries. The Port
Orange Police Department continues its investigation regarding
this accident. As previously indicated above the operator of the
third vehicle, the small white hatchback style car, may not be
aware they were involved in this accident and are asked to
contact the police department immediately so the investigation
can be completed. Additionally, any witnesses not previously
contacted by the police, are asked to contact Officer
Christopher Ganem of the Port Orange Police Department traffic
unit at 386-506-5838 should you have any information or
questions.
