POLICE MAKE ARREST IN TWO ROBBERIES

On April 6, 2009 at approximately 5:11 pm a black male suspect walked into the Blue Ribbon Cleaners at 3808 Clyde Morris Blvd, armed with a handgun and proceeded to commit an armed robbery. The black male suspect stole money from the cash register, as well as money and jewelry belonging to the employee.

On April 12, 2009 at 7:33 pm a black male suspect walked into the Subway Restaurant at 3751 Clyde Morris Blvd, armed with a handgun and proceeded to commit an armed robbery. The black male suspect stole money from the cash register, and inquired if the employee was in possession of any money. Videotape of incident was disseminated.

On April 14, 2009 at 4:21 am Officer Barry Marotte observed a suspicious vehicle in the Sunrise Pointe Apartments which is located just off of Clyde Morris Blvd. His initial investigation led him to believe that the Nike sneakers the black male suspect was wearing, along with a baseball cap in the vehicle, were similar to the clothing shown in the Subway Restaurant armed robbery videotape.

The black male suspect who was operating the suspicious vehicle was identified as 21-year-old Isaac James Andrews, 3655 Nantucket Island apt # 106 of Port Orange. Andrews was then placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle w/out a driver’s license and possession of crack cocaine.

A photo line-up which included Isaac James Andrews was formulated and shown to the victim of the Blue Ribbon Cleaners, as well as to the victim in the Subway Restaurant armed robbery. Based on the positive results and the totality of evidence, Isaac James Andrews was also charged with the armed robberies of the aforementioned businesses. He was transported to Volusia County Branch Jail under a total bond of $ 50,500.00.

Anyone with pertinent information is asked to contact the investigators in charge of the armed robbery investigations which are as follows:

Detective Steve Braddock at # 506-5887
