                                                              CLICK IT OR TICKET CAMPAIGN

May 18, 2009 to May 31, 2009 is the state wide “Click It or Ticket” campaign.  The Port Orange Police Department will be participating in this state wide safety belt initiative to promote the use of safety belts among the motoring public. Floridians who do not wear a seat belt continue to make up a majority of the roadway body count. In 2007 – the most recent year for which crash statistics are available – the 1 in 5 Floridians who did not buckle up accounted for 3 in 5 traffic fatalities. The Port Orange Police Department is endeavoring to educate its residents and visitors about the dangers of not buckling up when in a motor vehicle.
