PORT ORANGE MAN CHANGED WITH
POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
On
May 1, 2008 a local computer business contacted the Port
Orange Police Department Special Investigations Unit. One of
the computer business technicians during the process of
completing repairs for the defendant Paul Francis,
discovered multiple files and folders containing what they
believed to be still photos, and video clips of minor
females engaging in sexual acts, and posed in provocative
positions.
A search warrant was completed
for the computer and it was sent to the FDLE laboratory for
further forensic examination. On March 5, 2009 the computer
was returned to the Port Orange Police Department. On April
6, 2009 Dr. Michael Bell confirmed the images provided to
him, did in fact contain images of under-aged female
subjects in sexualized poses and in various sexual acts with
adult subjects.
On May 18, 2009 at 3:25 pm,
68-year-old Paul W. Francis of
4252 Mayfair
Lane, Port Orange,
was arrested at the Port Orange Police Department on ten
counts of possession of photos and videos depicting sexual
performance by a child. Francis was transported to VCBJ
under a $ 100,000.00 bond.
Anyone with information is asked
to contact Sergeant Wayne Dorman at 386-506-5881.
