                               SERGEANT HOSPITALIZED AFTER VEHICLE ACCIDENT

On this date at approximately 6: 30 am, Port Orange Police Sergeant Scott Warren, en-route to work, was involved in an accident on I-95 in Port Orange near mile marker 257 southbound. A vehicle, also driving southbound, possibly blew a tire causing the collision with Sergeant Warren’s police vehicle. The driver of that vehicle fled the scene on foot. Port Orange officers and the Sheriff’s helicopter searched the area for the driver with negative results.

Sergeant Warren was transported to Halifax Hospital and was released from the hospital at approximately 10:15 am.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
