                                              POLICE ARREST SEXUAL OFFENDER

On August 20, 2009 the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Goshen, New York contacted the Port Orange Police Department Criminal Investigations Division regarding a Level three sexual offender. A level three offender has a high risk of repeat offense and a threat to public safety exists. New York authorities advised that a sexual offender left their jurisdiction on or about August 14, 2009 enroute to an address in Port Orange.

Detectives confirmed that the sexual offender named Christian Alexander Mabee did not register with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Career Criminal Unit as required. Detectives responded to his girlfriend’s address of 366 Sagewood Drive in Port Orange, where Christian Alexander Mabee was found hiding in a rear bedroom. He was placed under arrest for the charge of failure to register as a sexual offender and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail under a $10,000.00 bond.
