TWO ARRESTED IN WAL-MART ROBBERY

On November 29, 2009 at approximately 11:00 pm two males entered into the Wal-Mart store located at 1590 Dunlawton Avenue. They proceeded to place two 32” flat screen televisions and a wall mount into shopping carts, and then exit the store without paying for the property through the closed Garden Center area. The total cost of the theft was $ 845.00.

An intelligence bulletin was disseminated to surrounding agencies which included facts gleaned from the Wal-Mart videotape. It was learned that Marion County Sheriff’s Department had begun investigating a similar incident at the Wal-Mart store in Summerfield. The Port Orange Police Department and Marion County Sheriff’s Department received tips as to the possible identity of the suspects.

On December 4, 2009 at approximately 5:15 pm Sergeant Wayne Dorman and Officer Charles Stewart responded to two separate locations in DeLand, they were able to arrest James R. Seagraves, 27, 507 W. Howry, DeLand and Donald Woulard, III, 28, 839 N. Clark Road, #7, DeLand for the grand theft of the property from the Port Orange Wal-Mart. Donald Woulard III was also arrested on a Robbery Warrant obtained by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department related to their Wal-Mart incident. The DeLand Police Department assisted in the arrest of the two suspects in question.

Donald Woulard III and James R. Seagraves were booked at the DeLand Police Department and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail. The charges for Donald Woulard III were Grand Theft (Port Orange) and a Robbery Warrant (Marion County) with a total bond of $ 26,500.00. The charge against James R. Seagraves is Grand Theft (Port Orange) with a bond of $ 1,500.00.

The motor vehicle depicted on the videotapes in the Port Orange and Marion County incidents was seized in Deland. During the course of the investigation in Deland one of the 32” flat screen televisions was recovered and seized by the Port Orange Police Detectives.

Anyone with pertinent information involving the arrested individuals is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Wayne Dorman at # 506-5881.
