CITY OF PORT ORANGE TO CELEBRATE NEW POLICE STATION
The City
of Port Orange will celebrate the ribbon-cutting and
dedication of its new Police Station on Saturday January
30th, 2010 at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will
take place in front of the new police station located at
4545 Clyde Morris Blvd. Mayor Allen Green, members of
the City Council and Police Chief Gerald M. Monahan Jr.,
have asked the public to join them for this momentous
occasion. An open house of the new facility will follow
for members of the public.
Assistant Police Chief Wayne M. Miller said, “We
thank Mayor Green and members of the City Council for
their continued support of the organization’s public
safety operations. Additionally the residents of our
community are to be thanked for their vision with this
necessary project. The new 60,000 square foot police
station is a visual landmark along Clyde Morris Blvd and
boasts state-of-the-art technology systems, an energy
efficient design and it was developed to accommodate at
least 50 years of future needs and growth. The
culmination of years of planning, cooperation and hard
work have resulted in the much anticipated
ribbon-cutting and dedication of the new Port Orange
Police Station. We want our citizens to join our
officers, employees and volunteers to celebrate and be a
part of this important event.”
