                                             PEDESTRIAN DIES IN ACCIDENT

At 2:56 PM on this date, Port Orange Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Clyde Morris Blvd and Victoria Gardens Blvd in regards to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident. Once on scene it was discovered that a passenger vehicle, traveling north bound on Clyde Morris, struck a pedestrian attempting to cross Clyde Morris Blvd. A second vehicle struck the back end of the first vehicle involved with the pedestrian crash.  

The pedestrian was transported to Halifax Hospital Daytona Beach by EVAC ambulance, however was pronounced expired at 1534 hours. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  

An autopsy will be scheduled and the accident is under investigation by Port Orange Police Traffic Homicide investigators.
