The National High School Drill Team Championships are this weekend at the Ocean Center. You won't want to miss this competition as drill teams from across the country to compete for national titles Friday, May 3, through Sunday, May 5. Hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The competition is open to the public and free to attend. The championships are the oldest, largest and finest drill and ceremony competition held annually. Sponsored for decades by the U.S. Army Cadet Command, "the Grand Nationals" as this legendary event has grown to be recognized as, features school-aged drill and ceremony units of all ability levels and from all of the four service branches.
