2019 Florida Truck Driving Championships
Every year, the top drivers are selected from their respective companies to compete in the statewide event. Drivers compete in different classes including tanker, 3- to 5- axle, auto transport and flatbed. This year a record number (315) drivers have qualified, from companies such as FedEx, UPS, Landstar, Oakley Transport, Publix and Florida Rock & Tank Lines. The public can watch the championship for FREE. The Florida TDC is the qualifier to the national championships held in Ohio and hosted by the American Trucking Associations. The Florida Trucking Association is the leading voice, protecting the interests of Florida's trucking and transportation industry, for almost 90 years. FTA is the sole liaison between the trucking industry, the Florida Legislature and state regulatory agencies, and serves as a source of information, continuing education and best practices for its members.
The competitors have a combined 400 million miles of safe driving while hauling freight. The Florida truck driving industry accounts for 13 percent of gross state product and employs 1 in 21 Floridians.
