Richard Burrow, a librarian and history buff, will discuss Operation Michael during a free program from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle.
Operation Michael was the last German offensive of World War I. The 15-day assault, which claimed the lives of nearly 500,000 soldiers, was launched from the Hindenburg Line in France on March 21, 1918. The Allies halted the advance, marking the beginning of the end of war for Germany.
