Summer Foliage Forum

The University of Florida/Volusia County Extension will present a Summer Foliage Forum from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the Agriculture Center, 3100 E. New York Ave, DeLand.

William Lusher, director of the Florida Automated Weather Network at the University of Florida, will look back at the last decade of weather patterns in the Pierson and Seville areas and explain their effects on the cut foliage and leatherleaf industry.

Dr. David Norman, a professor of plant pathology at the University of Florida’s Mid-Florida Research and Education Center, will discuss fungal control on cut foliage.

The program is free and open to the public. Participants can earn up to two continuing education credits.
