Florida was once a land of odd giants that eventually and mysteriously disappeared at the end of the last ice age.
Learn about these prehistoric mammals during a free program at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary. Zach Zacharias will share information about giant sloths, mammoths, mastodons, giant armadillos, smilodons, giant cave bears and others. He will also bring specimens for display and touch.
Zacharias is senior curator of education at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach.
The program is part of DeBary Hall’s Lemonade Lectures series. Light refreshments and lemonade will be served.
Reservations are not required. For more information, contact Tracy Mestre at 386-668-3840 or email@example.com.
