Friction Farm, a husband-and-wife team of traveling troubadours, will perform at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle.

Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay combine storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes and quirky observations. From ballads to anthems, each song is filled with harmony and hope.

The duo won the South Florida Folk Festival songwriter competition and have performed as official showcase artists at the Southeast, Southwest and Northeast Folk Alliance Conferences.

Reservations are not required for this free performance. For more information, call the library at 386-322-5152, option 4.

The program is part of the Volusia County Public Library's NEA Big Read, a six-week celebration of “A Wizard of Earthsea,” a 1968 fantasy novel by Ursula K. Le Guin. The NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
