LEC - The Nature of Things

Event Date(s)

Begins: March 12, 2020 6:30 pm
Ends: March 12, 2020 7:30 pm

In the informal style of a science café, Jennifer Mitchell of the St. Johns River Water Management District will lead an exploration of the origins of this valuable resource and the journey it makes as it travels to our homes and yards. Can you even imagine one day without water? How would your day start, or end? Seventy-one percent of the earth’s surface is covered by water, but less than 1% of that is drinkable. Here in east central Florida, more than 90% of people use groundwater, which comes from an aquifer, as their water supply.

This program, which is funded in part by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is appropriate for adults and teens.

Meet in Lyonia Environmental Center's classroom, 2150 Eustace Ave., Deltona.

Reservations are required; call 386-789-7207, ext. 21028.
