Do you remember the lovely roses of yesteryear? They were easier to grow, resistant to pests, and had a wonderful scent.
Master Gardener Pat LeClaire is still growing those roses, now called antique roses. In fact, it’s her passion to save and reinstate old garden roses into the landscape.
LeClaire will describe the roses she has been propagating and growing for more than 30 years during a free program at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Daytona Beach Regional Library, 105 E. Magnolia Ave.
She will bring cuttings and demonstrate how to propagate a beautiful rose garden.
This free program is open to the public. Reservations are requested; go to www.volusialibrary.org or call the reference desk 386-257-6036, option 4.
The library is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
