Coyotes in Florida: 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29. Lauren Barth of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will give a presentation that focuses on helping Floridians understand and live with this mid-sized member of the canine family. She will explain why coyotes are present in the state, describe their biology and role in the environment, and provide updates on recent research. Potential problems with coyotes, including livestock and pet loss, will also be discussed. Learn about regulations and why eradication is not achievable for this species. Details on how to be safe around coyotes and how to coexist with this new predator on Florida’s landscape will also be provided.
