Local historian Larry French will share his take on the art of living history at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary.
French is a living history re-enactor, member of the Florida Historical Society, former executive director of the West Volusia Historical Society, and author of the history-based novel series “Time Will Tell.”
He will discuss his role as a Civil War re-enactor and explain what living history is, how it allows people to step back in time, and why it’s important in our understanding of today’s world.
The free presentation is part of the Lemonade Lectures series, which is sponsored by the Friends of DeBary Hall and Volusia County’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Division. Light refreshments and lemonade will be served.
Reservations are not required. For more information, contact Tracy Mestre at 386-668-3840 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
