In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Kathy Diaz of the Florida Department of Health will discuss the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.
This breast and cervical cancer screening program provides reduced-cost or free mammograms, clinical breast exams and Pap smears to low-income, uninsured women between ages 50 and 64.
Tea and treats will be served. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink.
Registration is required for this free program, which is part of Health Happens in Libraries Month. Call the library at 386-822-6430, ext. 20762.
The library is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
